SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Race

SUP is the paddle sport that first emerged from the beaches of Hawaii. It has recently become hugely popular around inland areas on lakes and rivers thanks to big events in the USA such as the Gopro Mountain Games.
Recently race events in Japan are on the rise with Okutama starting the first race, followed by Shikoku, Kyushu and Gifu.
The event in Minakami will be a cross race style race with 4 people per group, starting together and racing down a whitewater course laid out with buoys. A great spectator event that will keep the crowd in suspense until the end.

River Boarding Race

The first major riverboard race was held in Okutama in November 2017 and the sport has since gained massive momentum. Be prepared to be amazed by the moves of the world class athletes as they battle the Tone Rivers world class white water.
